The BTSA is proud to be working with Best Practice Network/Outstanding Leaders Partnership to deliver the National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) to colleagues across the Essex area.
APPLICATIONS FOR THE AUTUMN 2023 INTAKE OF NPQs HAVE NOW OPENED AND THE DfE HAVE CONFIRMED THEY WILL BE FULLY FUNDED FOR ALL STATE-MAINTAINED SCHOOLS AND ACADEMIES
The frameworks for the NPQs draw from the very latest evidence and research into pedagogy, behaviour, curriculum and more to offer teachers and leaders clear development opportunities.
The reformed qualifications aim to:
- help teachers hone and develop the skills they already have, helping them to become more effective leaders inside and outside the classroom and improving overall teaching quality
- retain high-calibre teachers by offering clearer development opportunities and career progression
NPQ programmes available are:
Specialist NPQs
For teachers and leaders who want to develop their expertise in specialist areas of teaching practice:
NPQ for Leading Teaching (NPQLT)

Applying for an NPQ programme
The application window is open so apply now for Autumn 2023 NPQ intake.
Full details for each of the NPQs, including the registration form and information on funding, can be found at: www.bestpracticenet.co.uk/npq or www.outstandingleaders.org/npq
Once registered with BPN/OLP, their website will direct applicants to also register for their NPQ on the DfE's new NPQ applicant portal. This secondary registration will ensure participants access funding and are certified for their completion of the programme.
The DfE has also introduced additional payments to small schools to enable them to support their teachers and leaders to undertake NPQs. This 'Targeted Support Funding' will give a grant payment of £200 per participant to settings with 1-600 pupils, for every teacher or leader employed that participates in an NPQ. Organisations that are eligible for NPQ funding will also be eligible for targeted support funding.
The team at Best Practice Network can be contacted through the live-chat function of their website or you can send enquiries to: npq@bestpracticenet.co.uk
When applying please ensure you select BTSA from the drop down list when prompted. This will help ensure you access our local delivery.
