BTSA Time to Talk:
Oracy in the classroom
Our Time to Talk: Oracy in the classroom training is designed to assist all secondary staff (teaching, support and pastoral) to promote, support and accelerate progress through domain specific and wider spoken language practice.
SUITABLE FOR SECONDARY PHASE ONLY
The training offers insight into the importance of the spoken word in building students’ knowledge, skills and efficaciousness across the curriculum and beyond school life.
The course will provide key universal strategies to deploy within the classroom and in a support role to build confidence in speaking in a range of contexts.
This session will also revisit and consolidate the importance of oracy and vocabulary/language development for young people, thus building upon our earlier ‘Reading: Universal Strategies for Progress’ session.
It is advised that participants attend both sessions to provide further tools with which to improve foundational literacy skills for all pupils.
Both READING: UNIVERSAL STRATEGIES FOR PROGRESS and TIME TO TALK: ORACY IN THE CLASSROOM can be booked together at a discounted cost.
