Instructional Coaching workshop - Wednesday 12th January 2022 4pm at The Appleton School
Posted Tuesday 19th October 2021 2:41PM | News Categories

The BTSA is delighted to offer schools the opportunity to attend an 'Instructional Coaching' workshop aimed at supporting both leaders and teachers to understand the practice of instructional coaching and how this can be developed within your school to enhance student preformance.

In terms of impact on Teaching and Learning and student outcomes, there is a growing evidence base that instructional coaching is better than any other form of mentoring or coaching utilised in schools. The principles of instructional coaching support teachers to develop new techniques by setting precise sub-goals (or steps) for improvement and designing practice to overcome existing classroom habits and enhance professional practice.

In this one-hour session, you will learn about:

  • The premise of instructional coaching and how it is different to other methods
  • What the process of setting up an instructional coaching programme within your school might look like and steps to achieve this
  • Hear feedback from some of the coaches and colleagues involved in a pilot run of the programme in a Benfleet secondary school

Please view attached flyer for full programme details: Instructional Coaching

This workshop is suitable for both primary and secondary phases and aimed at Teaching & Learning Leads, Senior Leaders, ITT & ECT mentors and induction leads, Lead Practitioners and aspiring mentors/leaders to guide improvement and support student progress.
