The BTSA is delighted to be able to offer a whole school approach to making the best use of TAs based upon evidence from the Deployment & Impact of Support Staff project and the EEF guidance 'Making Best Use of Teaching Assistants'.

This 9-session evidence-based programme created by our designated Local Leader in Education (LLE) aims to support schools to maximise the use of their TAs to impact student progress. The course provides training for leaders, teachers and TAs to improve effective working practice and support professional development within both primary and secondary phases.

Evidence shows that improving the use of your current TA workforce is a better investment of pupil premium funds than employing more TAs. Inspection reports are increasingly recognising the added value of effective TA deployment.

Session information

  • Delivered via zoom to reduce time and travel costs (all sessions will also be recorded)
  • Leaders and teachers will receive individual links but we envisage all TAs attending together to enhance learning and collaborative working
  • Opportunities will be offered in each session to share good practice and form action plans
  • Resources will be shared in advance and TAs will be encouraged to reflect after each session

For full session details, please select the Sessions tab above.

Please view attached flyer for full programme details: Making Best Use of TAs
